Frequently Asked Questions:
What is The Lord's Haven? The Lord's Haven is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to provide a peaceful sanctuary for Christian ministers to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to give them new life to spread the message that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. This sanctuary will be built in a forest setting in Wayne County, Mississippi. Each cabin will include a bedroom, kitchen and washer/dryer. Why was The Lord's Haven founded? Statistics indicate that pastors are experiencing spiritual burnout at an alarming rate due to problems within their families and churches. Many pastors say that the ministry has negatively affected their lives. Pastors also feel that they are looked upon by society as a moral standard. Therefore, The Lord's Haven was founded to give relief to pastors in the hope that they will positively affect the lives of the members of their flocks. Who is eligible to attend this retreat and for how long? Christian pastors of all denominations and their immediate families will be eligible to use the facilities. Typically, the pastor and his family would arrive on Monday morning and check out Friday by noon. What should the pastor and his family expect? This time away for the pastor and his family is meant to be a time of rejuvenation – a time for the family to renew themselves in the Holy Spirit individually and as a family. The family should expect to stay in clean, comfortable cabins furnished with food, linens and Christian books and videos. A recreation area will be available for use by the family, and it will include fishing, exercise trails and bird and wildlife watching. How is the retreat funded?
